Frequently Asked Questions #
How long does shipping from Australia to New Zealand take?
Typically 5–10 business days by air freight from our Melbourne warehouse. Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch are at the faster end; rural South Island areas may need 1–2 extra days. NZ Customs inspection can add 1–2 days during peak periods.
How much does it cost to ship from Australia to New Zealand?
Rates are based on chargeable weight (the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight). Multiple parcels can be consolidated free to reduce cost. Use our rate calculator for an instant quote — Ebaoguo is typically 40–60% less than DHL Express (which is significantly more expensive).
Does New Zealand charge import tax?
Yes. All imports are subject to 15% GST — there is no low-value exemption (removed December 2019). Most goods have 0% import duty, but some textiles and footwear may attract 5–10%. Taxes are assessed and collected by NZ Customs, not by Ebaoguo.
What are New Zealand biosecurity rules?
NZ has strict biosecurity enforced by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI). Items that must be declared include: untreated wood or wooden products, fresh or dried plants and seeds, animal products (leather, feathers, honey), and soil-contaminated items. Failure to declare can result in seizure and fines. Always declare all item contents accurately.
Can I ship food from Australia to New Zealand?
Commercially packaged, sealed foods (biscuits, sweets, instant noodles) are generally allowed but must be declared. Fresh produce, meat, honey, and raw eggs are not permitted. Contact us before shipping food — prohibited items may be seized without refund.
What is the maximum parcel size and weight?
Each parcel can weigh up to 30 kg. Dimensions: no single side over 105 cm, and length + girth ≤ 300 cm. Oversized items may incur a surcharge — contact us first. Multiple purchases can be consolidated free of charge into one shipment.
Does Ebaoguo provide door-to-door delivery to New Zealand?
Yes. Ebaoguo delivers door-to-door across New Zealand, including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, Dunedin, and rural areas. No pickup depot required — packages are delivered directly to your address.
Is parcel consolidation free?
Yes. Ebaoguo offers free consolidation — multiple purchases sent to our Melbourne warehouse can be combined into a single international shipment. This can significantly reduce your per-kg rate compared to shipping each item individually.
Do I pay GST shipping from Australia to New Zealand?
Yes — 15% GST on declared value applies to all imports since Dec 2019; most goods are 0% duty.
