Shipping from China to Malaysia

Transit time depends on the route you choose. Ebaoguo runs three consolidated lines from our Guangdong warehouse: Sea Freight Small Parcel and Sea Freight Large Cargo both take around 25–35 days after dispatch, while Air Freight is the fastest at roughly 7–14 days after the flight departs. Because we ship on our own consolidated line rather than a third-party express courier, customs clearance is handled by us on the duty-paid routes.

Rates are charged on the chargeable weight (actual vs. volumetric, whichever is greater) after consolidation. Sea Freight Small Parcel starts from ￥75 for the first 5 kg to West Malaysia (￥15 per additional kg) and ￥105 for the first 5 kg to East Malaysia / Sabah / Sarawak (￥16 per additional kg). Air Freight is billed per kg with a 1 kg minimum. Consolidating multiple Taobao or 1688 orders into one shipment spreads the base fee. Yes — Taobao, 1688 wholesale, Pinduoduo, JD.com, and Tmall all ship to the Guangdong warehouse address you receive after signing up. Once your items arrive at the warehouse, the forwarder inspects, consolidates, and dispatches them to your Malaysian address. This is especially useful for 1688, where most sellers only ship domestically within China. A good China shipping agent handles the domestic leg for you, so you never need to deal with Chinese-only checkout flows or local courier handoffs.

Not on our duty-paid lines. The Sea Freight Small Parcel route and the Air Freight route ship on a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) basis — Malaysian import duty and SST are already included in the shipping fee, so you pay nothing on delivery and no invoice is required. The Sea Freight Large Cargo route is priced separately and duties are declared independently; contact customer service for large-cargo customs details. (Malaysia does not levy GST — sales tax is charged under SST.)

Malaysian customs prohibits or restricts a range of goods. Commonly flagged items include lithium batteries (standalone, not inside devices), flammable liquids, certain food products, counterfeit or brand-name replica goods, and items bearing unlicensed trademarks. Most parcel forwarders also refuse to handle dangerous goods, pressurised canisters, and live plants. Always check your forwarder’s prohibited items list before purchasing — shipping a banned item can result in seizure, fines, or your entire consolidated shipment being held at customs.

You shop across Taobao, Pinduoduo, Tmall, or any other Chinese platform, and all your parcels are delivered to your forwarder’s China warehouse. Once everything has arrived, the team repackages them into a single box, which cuts down on per-shipment handling fees and reduces your overall shipping cost to Malaysia. Most forwarders hold packages free of charge for 30–60 days, giving you time to finish your shopping before dispatching.

The right choice comes down to budget and urgency. Air freight is best when you need items quickly or are shipping lighter parcels — the cost difference over sea freight narrows considerably below 20 kg. Sea freight wins on price for heavy or bulky shipments, such as furniture, appliances, or large 1688 wholesale orders, where the lower rate per kilogram adds up to real savings. If you’re not in a rush and your consolidated shipment exceeds 50–100 kg, sea freight from China to Malaysia is almost always the more economical option.

If your parcel is held, Malaysian customs will typically issue a query letter requesting supporting documents — usually a commercial invoice, packing list, and proof of payment. A reputable freight forwarder or China shipping agent will help you prepare accurate customs declarations and declared value documentation before the shipment leaves China, which significantly reduces the chance of delays.
